super saiyan levels

Hello and welcome to the SSJ Levels section. This section will explain to you the different forms a Saiyan can go through, from a normal Saiyan to the almost impossible to reach form Super Saiyan 4. I will try to be as detailed and informative as possible but as usual if there are any major mistakes or points that I have missed then tell me about it. Other then that, enjoy! Requirements

1. The Person must have Saiyan blood. Full Saiyans and/or Part Saiyans can go SSJ (Gohan, Trunks, and Goten were all able to go SSJ because their fathers were Saiyans)

2. Must have enough physical power to surpass the limits of a common Saiyan. (Theoretically, Goku was able to go SSJ when he landed on Namek because he trained very hard on 100G)

3. The Saiyan's heart must be pure in order to go Super Saiyan, either pure good or evil can go Super Saiyan.

5. After the first level of Super Saiyan has been reached all subsequent levels are easier to achieve. (Although you still need to train hard and possess an incredible amount of power)

6. The Saiyan's power level will increase 50 times after going Super Saiyan. (This is not always accurate, because everyone one in DB knew how to hide and increase their PL) Jump To

A Saiyan who has not undergone the Super Saiyan transformation is characterized by having black hair and black eyes. Saiyans are born with a tail, the tail allows them to transform into an Oozaru or were-monkey when they glance at a full moon. All of the Saiyans in the dragonball series had their tails removed, until Dragonball GT where Goku and Vegeta got their tails back allowing them to go Super Saiyan Level 4.

Pros	Cons
- Strength is much greater than that of humans or any other race for that matter - A Saiyans power will increase after every battle - A Saiyan will stay in his prime and not show signs of aging the more he/she fights	- Cannot go Super Saiyan with a tail (not sure if this is true or not, but following the series it is true) - No cons really, I'm sure every Dragonball fan wishes he/she was a Saiyan, hehe.

When a Saiyan sees the light of a full moon, a Saiyan will involuntarily transform into a monkey-like beast. While in this form the Saiyan's power is greatly increased. A Saiyans power level will increase ten times to be exact. There are two ways to reverse this transformation, one is to cut off the Saiyan's tail, and the other is to get rid of the source of the moon light.

Note: When Gohan went Oozaru Piccolo destroyed the moon to stop him, that explains why Earth doesn't have a moon.

Basically all Saiyan's on the planet Vegeta has, but during the Dragonball timeline, it was Goku, Gohan and Vegeta.

Pros	Cons
- After going Oozaru, a Saiyan's power level will increase ten times. Eg. 18 000 will increase to 180 000	- Cannot revert back to a Saiyan, unless one of the two sources are destroyed - If a Saiyan gets it's tail cut off or the light of the full moon diminishes the Saiyan will transform back normal - If you do not have enough power you will not be able to control yourself while in the Oozaru mode. EG. Gohan when he went Oozaru

Super Saiyan is very powerful state, the Super Saiyan stage can only be released with intense rage. When in Super Saiyan stage a Saiyan's power, speed and agility will greatly increase, also a Saiyan's hair will spike up and turn blond color and the eyes will become green. There is a golden aura that surrounds a Super Saiyan. Saiyans who are half human/Saiyans can go super Saiyan at a much younger age. This is proved when Goten was able to go Super Saiyan at the age of seven.

Fact: Goku was the first Saiyan to reach the Super Saiyan status, he reached this level during the Freeza saga when Freeza killed Krillen.

Pros	Cons
- Saiyan's Power Level will increase 50 times upon reaching SSJ status - Power, Agility, Speed will increase greatly	- Heart will fill up with rage, thus preventing the Saiyan from executing some attacks. Specifically the Genki-Dama

This stage is very hard to obtain, Ultra Super Saiyan is in between Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2. When in Ultra Super Saiyan, the Saiyan's hair gets more spiky, this is a very strong but slow form, because of the increase of strength this causes the muscles to become extremely large.

Fact: Although I am not 100% sure, I believe it was Vegeta who first reached this form while training in the room of spirit and time. Future Trunks was the next to reach this level but didn't use it until he witnessed his father get beat up by Cell.

Pros	Cons
- The Saiyan's power will increase dramatically - The muscles of a USSJ will grow extremely large, making the Saiyan look really buffed up	- If a USSJ chooses to increase his power then his speed will drop, if he chooses to increase his speed then his power will drop

Super Saiyan 2 is an extremely powerful state, this level of Saiyan will do even more damage than Ultra, and without the lack in speed. Super Saiyan 2 looks a lot like Super Saiyan, except the hair grows a bit longer, and gets a bit more spikier. There is still a golden aura surrounding the Saiyan plus electric bolts will flash around whoever is in this form.

Fact: Gohan reached Super Saiyan 2 during the Cell Game, when Cell destroyed Android 16 it triggered something inside Gohan that caused him to explode with anger.

Pros	Cons
- The Saiyan's power, speed and agility will increase much more than going SSJ - The muscles will become bigger in a SSJ2 than a normal SSJ	- Not many, it increases your overall Strength and in much more powerful than SSJ

This form of SSJ takes a great deal of power to reach. There is a great jump in a Saiyan's power level when he is able to reach the third stage of Super Saiyan. The Saiyan will gain more power, agility, and speed than in Saiyan 2. Unlike Super Saiyan 1 and 2 the transformation into Super Saiyan 3 alters the body more, the eye brows will disappear and the hair of the Saiyan grows thick, full, and very long, all the way down to the waist.

Note: Because Super Saiyan 3 is so strong, this stage will use up energy much faster, a SSJ3 will lose his power instead of regaining it by resting.

Fact: Goku reached this stage in the afterlife during the 7 years that past in between the Cell Game and the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai. The first time we see him in this form was when he fights against Fat Buu, Gotenks was the other Saiyan to reach this level.

Pros	Cons
- Power, Speed, Agility will greatly increase that of a SSJ2	- This great power will use up the energy in a Saiyan really quickly - A SSJ3 will revert back into a normal Saiyan if he stays in this form too long

Gold Oozaru is much more powerful than the regular Oozaru. It occurs when a Saiyan with a tail looks at the "full Earth" from the planet Plant. It is distinguished from the regular Oozaru from the increase in power, and the gold hair color.

Fact: During the Bebi Saga, Bebi used the dragonballs to wish back the planet plant. After Goku battles and loses to Bebi he lies on the ground staring at the Earth, The Earth acts as a full moon, because Goku had his tail re-grown by Kaioshin he transformed into a Gold Oozaru. Bebi-Vegeta was also able to Go Oozaru because he had Bulma help re-grow his tail.

Pros	Cons
- Considered the Super Saiyan for the Oozaru - Much more powerful than a normal Oozaru - Once Gold Oozaru has been reach a Saiyan can now attain SSJ4	- The power increase involved may cause the Saiyan to lose conscience of his surroundings causing him to act berserk

Super Saiyan 4 is also called beyond super Saiyan or the true Super Saiyan. This level can only be achieved by turning into a gold Oozaru first, in this form the Saiyan's hair turns back to black and the eyes change to a different color. The Saiyan will also get red fur all over his body except for the chest and there is red around the eyes.

Note: In this stage the Saiyan can keep his tail unlike the other ones where you can't have a tail to go super, the power is also balanced out so there is no readjusting required.

Fact: Goku was the first to go Super Saiyan 4, Pan helped to jog Goku's memory, because of this Goku was able to control himself as an Oozaru therefore reaching the fourth Saiyan stage.

Pros	Cons
- Power, Speed, Agility will increase even more than a SSJ3 - Everything is balanced out unlike the USSJ	- This form also uses up a lot of energy, the Saiyan will revert back to normal if he stays in this form too long
